When to register for tax collection

Sellers who exceed the sales threshold must register for a North Dakota sales tax permit, collect sales tax on sales that ship into North Dakota, and remit that sales tax to the state.
Remote sellers must register to collect and remit tax in North Dakota when, in the previous or current calendar year, they exceed a sales threshold of 100,000 USD.
The threshold includes taxable sales. The threshold excludes wholesales (sales of resale), non-taxable sales, and marketplace sales.
