When to register for tax collection

Sellers who exceed either the gross sales or transaction number threshold must register for an Indiana sales tax permit, collect sales tax on sales that ship to Indiana, and remit that sales tax to the state.
Before 1 January 2024, remote sellers also had economic nexus if they had 200 or more transactions in Indiana. That requirement was removed on 13 March 2024, retroactively.

Register for sales tax in Indiana at the tax authority:
After you’ve registered to collect tax in Indiana, go to Registrations to add your registrations to Stripe in the Dashboard. This turns on tax calculation and collection in Stripe for your transactions in Indiana.

Location reports
Location reports offer a summary of transaction and refund data for specific US locations and align with Indiana filing requirements. You have the option to report on an annual, fiscal year, or monthly basis.
Filing
