Allow issuers and lenders to provide buy now, pay later payments.

Mastercard Instalments lets businesses use their existing Mastercard relationship to offer instalment payment options to customers.

You’re automatically enrolled to accept Mastercard Instalments when you start accepting Mastercard payments.

Customers who have a Mastercard Instalments virtual card can pay in 4 interest-free instalments during checkout, like a regular Mastercard transaction. The same fee structure applies to Mastercard Instalments as regular Mastercard transactions. Surcharging for Mastercard Instalments is prohibited.

#### Business locations

Stripe accounts in the following countries can accept Mastercard Installment payments:

- AE
- AU
- CA
- DE
- GB
- MY
- US

## Prohibited business categories

In addition to the categories of [businesses restricted from using Stripe](https://stripe.com/legal/restricted-businesses), the following categories are prohibited from accepting a Mastercard Instalments virtual card.

- Money transfer
- Funding transactions
- Quasi cash
- Merchandise and services: Customer financial institution
- Payment transaction
- MoneySend

## Recurring payments

Mastercard Instalments doesn’t support recurring payments such as subscriptions. If a buyer attempts to purchase a recurring product or service with this card, it will be declined.

## Disable Mastercard Instalments

If you don’t want to accept Mastercard Instalments payments, contact us using the form at [Stripe support](https://support.stripe.com) with the subject “MC Installments Opt Out” to request opting out.

This process can take 1-3 days to complete.
