When you use Managed Payments, Stripe acts as your merchant of record. A merchant of record is the legal entity responsible for facilitating the sale of products to a customer. This means Stripe manages the following for you:

- Fraud prevention
- Responding to disputes
- Order fulfillment
- Transaction-level customer support

- The product is sold through a subscription-based pricing model
- The product is sold directly from your business to customers (not through a platform or marketplace)
- Your business holds all necessary rights and licenses to distribute the product
