Launch a Capital program without writing code using the Stripe Dashboard. Launching a program means you’ve enabled sending automatic financing offers to eligible connected accounts. After you launch, you can further customize your program using either embedded components or Stripe APIs using this guide.
Before you begin
- No-code onboarding is only available to businesses located in the US. For platforms in the UK, see Set up embedded components program, see Set up an embedded components integration.
- Review the Capital demo. This demo shows how to launch a basic Capital program and enable sending financing offers to your connected accounts. It also displays the Stripe-hosted Capital page your connected account interacts with to accept and manage their financing.
Choose a no-code integration
In the Capital page in the Dashboard, select Get Started > Continue > No code.
Preview emails for your connected accounts
Click Continue to preview the co-branded emails Stripe sends to your connected accounts. For no-code integrations, Stripe provides co-branded financing offers and servicing emails to your connected accounts. You can adjust your branding in these emails in your Connect settings in the Dashboard.
Upload emails for connected accounts
To receive Capital offers, connected accounts must have an email saved with Stripe. You can confirm email addresses, and upload missing email addresses for all eligible connected accounts through the Stripe Comms Center. You must have the necessary consent to share email addresses with Stripe.
By default, we try to email the connected account’s business representative with their Capital offer. If there isn’t an email, we use the connected account’s email, which is usually a general support email alias for a business. If a connected account clicks the button in the email to view their offer, they must confirm their identity to accept a financing offer on behalf of their business.
Select marketing
Announce and promote the Capital program to your connected accounts. Marketing might help increase the discoverability and adoption of your Capital program. You can market your Capital program to your connected accounts in several ways:
Stripe marketing only Recommended
To send Stripe co-branded emails with financial offers to your connected accounts, select Stripe marketing only. We recommend this option because these marketing emails are pre-approved by Stripe and our financial partners. You can always add custom marketing (such as announcement emails and social media posts) in compliance with our guidelines, after you launch.
Stripe and custom marketing
Send Stripe co-branded emails with financial offers to your connected accounts. To publish custom marketing assets (such as in-app notifications, blog posts, and social media):
- Select Continue with compliance review.
- Complete the outstanding tasks in Asana. Any custom assets you upload must pass compliance review, which might delay your launch up to 5-7 business days at minimum.
To learn about the guidelines for custom marketing, see How to market Capital.
Capital transactions and reports
If you already provide existing financial reports to your connected accounts in your platform’s UI, onboarding to Capital might affect the amount reflected in those transactions. Confirm with your team developer the types of reports and the level of detail you provide to your connected accounts.
Depending on the complexity (usually if your reports have filtering or grouping functionality), you might need to synchronize the data for these reports with Capital’s transactions, or alternately, you can provide separate Capital reports (using embedded components or Stripe APIs) in the designated Capital page in your platform’s UI to your connected accounts. To learn more, see Reconcile and provide reports.
Sign partnership contract
- Agree to the contract and e-sign policy.
- To sign, enter your first and last name, and click Continue.
- Click Launch.
Enable automatic offers
- (Optional) Click Manually send first offer to send a single offer to an eligible connected account. View the offer status in Financing Offers tab in the Dashboard. Return to the Capital onboarding page.
- Click Activate automatic offers.
All eligible connected accounts with an email address receive an offer email the following business day. Connected accounts receive additional offer emails every 30 days, as long as they remain eligible.
Connected account selection is randomized to comply with the Equal Credit Opportunity Act (ECOA), which protects borrowers by prohibiting unfair and discriminatory practices.
Track your offers
You can track all the offers you send to eligible connected accounts. These offers display in the Financing Offers tab, where you can see all the delivered offers. You can also track accepted offers. To learn more about the Capital page in the Dashboard, see Metrics.
Download data
- To export all your offers in a CSV file, click Export.
- Select the time zone, date range, and columns you want to export. If you’ve applied any filters, they also apply to the data export.
OptionalMonitor Capital metrics
To view insights about your Capital program, click the Overview tab in the Dashboard. You can see pending and active offers, in-progress financing offers, and fully repaid offers. To learn more, see Metrics.
OptionalIncrease program discoverability
After you launch a no-code integration, use the Capital promo tile embedded component to increase your program’s discoverability. This allows eligible connected accounts to view their offer and apply for financing directly in your platform’s UI. The promo tile can help increase financing application rates more than an email-only program.
OptionalManage payments in your platform's UI
After you launch a no-code integration, use the Capital financing embedded component to allow connected accounts to manage their payment progress, review transaction history, and complete payments towards their balance directly in your platform’s UI.
To use embedded components in livemode, you must enable automatic offers.
OptionalPublish custom marketing assets
After you launch a no-code integration, you can create and publish custom marketing assets to promote your Capital program to eligible connected accounts. For compliance reasons, Stripe must review all custom marketing to ensure they’re in compliance with our guidelines.
This also includes any copy used alongside any of the embedded components, including: headers, footers, landing page title, and URLs. Review and approval might take up to 5-7 business days. To learn more, see:
