# Retrieve a customer

Retrieves a Customer object.

## Prerequisites

Before you can run the following code snippet, you need to call these APIs with the provided parameters to set up the prerequisite API object(s).

1. createCustomer

## Returns

Returns the Customer object for a valid identifier. If it’s for a deleted Customer, a subset of the customer’s information is returned, including a `deleted` property that’s set to true.
