Add money to your stablecoin balances
To get started, you need to fund your stablecoin balance in the Stripe Dashboard using your account details. You can share these account details so that others can send you money that you store in your stablecoin balance.
Notiz
Bridge (a Stripe company) is the custodian of your stablecoin balance. Your stablecoin balance might be held in either USDC (issued by Circle) or USDB (issued by Bridge). USDB is a closed-loop stablecoin, which means it’s not available for public sale. Both USDC and USDB are pegged to the US dollar with a one-to-one ratio.
- On the Balances page, click + Add funds.
- To add money using ACH or a wire transfer, click Bank transfer. This displays the information you need to transfer money. You can then use this information to transfer the money, or share that information with someone so they can transfer the money.
- To add money from a crypto wallet:
- Click Crypto transfer.
- Select your network.
- Copy the wallet address or scan the QR code with your crypto wallet.
- Click Done.
Transfer money between accounts
You can transfer money from your stablecoin balance to your external bank account or crypto wallet.
- On the Balances page, click Transfer.
- Select the external account to transfer to or create a new one. If the account isn’t a crypto wallet, the amount that the account receives automatically updates based on the current exchange rate.
- Click Review to review the details and cost breakdown of the transfer, then click Transfer.
Send money to others
You can pay out money to other people from your stablecoin balance in USD (over ACH or wire) or in stablecoins over crypto rails.
- On the Balances page, click Send.
- Select an existing recipient or create a new one. If you create a new recipient, you can choose which payout methods to add. You can also update this on the Directory page.
- Select the external account to transfer to. If the account isn’t a crypto wallet, the amount that the account receives automatically updates based on the current exchange rate. An exact rate isn’t guaranteed.
- Click Review to view the details and cost breakdown of the transfer, then click Pay out.
Considerations
Keep in mind the following when managing your stablecoin balance in your stablecoin financial account:
- Your stablecoin balance is custodied by Bridge, a Stripe company.
- We might hold your stablecoin balance in either USDC, issued by Circle, or USDB, issued by Bridge. You can see how we hold your balance by clicking the information icon next to your balance.
- USDB is an infrastructure stablecoin issued by Bridge. It’s always backed one-to-one by the equivalent value of US dollars held in cash and short-duration money market funds at BlackRock.
