Adds support for Billing Cadence, Billing Settings, and Billing ProfilePublic preview

What’s new

You can now use a new set of Billing APIs:

  • Billing Cadences determine the frequency at which you’re billed for your subscriptions.
  • Billing Settings are a reusable billing configuration that you can apply to multiple resources.
  • Billing Profiles represent how a bill is paid.

We’ve also updated existing Billing v1 APIs to work with these new Billing v2 APIs.

  • Subscriptions can charge customers on a recurring basis, and can now be powered by a Billing Cadence.

Impact

These new Billing APIs provide greater flexibility than before:

  • Billing Cadences allow you to link multiple subscriptions together to power invoice consolidation—and have all subscriptions billed once on a single invoice.
  • Billing Settings allow you to define a reusable configuration for billing-related objects, and evolve with versions.
  • Billing Profiles allow for complex payment flows where a payment method is stored on the profile and may be attached to multiple Billing Cadences.

Upgrade

  1. View your current API version in Workbench.
  2. If you use an SDK, upgrade to the corresponding SDK version for this API version.
    • If you don’t use an SDK, update your API requests to include Stripe-Version: 2025-09-30.preview
  3. Upgrade the API version used for webhook endpoints.
  4. Test your integration against the new version.
  5. If you use Connect, test your Connect integration.
  6. In Workbench, perform the upgrade. You can roll back the version for 72 hours.
