# Stablecoins in Treasury

Receive, store, and send stablecoins using your financial account.

Your [financial account](https://docs.stripe.com/treasury.md) can hold a *stablecoin balance* (A Stripe balance held in USDC stablecoin) in US dollar-backed USDC. It supports funding and money movement, including in markets where a *fiat balance* (A balance in a government-issued currency, such as USD, EUR, or GBP) isn’t available. With a stablecoin balance, you can [receive](https://docs.stripe.com/treasury/add-funds.md#add-from-a-crypto-wallet), [store](https://docs.stripe.com/treasury/store-funds.md#stablecoin-balances), [convert](https://docs.stripe.com/treasury/convert-funds.md#stablecoin-conversions), and [send](https://docs.stripe.com/treasury/transfer-send.md#stablecoin-payouts) funds.

### United States  (Public preview)

### Other eligible countries  (Private preview)

## Enable USDC 

If your business is in an [eligible country](https://docs.stripe.com/treasury/stablecoins.md#availability), you can enable a stablecoin balance by adding USDC as a currency on your financial account. In the Dashboard, go to [Balances](https://dashboard.stripe.com/balances?action=add-currency) and select **USDC**.

## How funds move 

Funds can move in and out of a stablecoin balance in the following ways:

- Inbound
  - Stablecoin funds directly from an external USDC or USDC.e crypto wallet (Stripe converts USDC.e to USDC)
  - Converted from a supported Stripe fiat balance, which you can fund from an external bank account or your Stripe payments balance
- Outbound
  - Stablecoin funds directly to an external USDC or USDC.e crypto wallet
  - [As fiat to a bank account](https://docs.stripe.com/treasury/transfer-send.md#stablecoin-payout-currencies) (Stripe converts USDC to the local currency)
  - [Converted to a supported Stripe fiat balance](https://docs.stripe.com/treasury/convert-funds.md#stablecoin-conversions)
  - To fund card spend

You can’t move funds from an external fiat account directly to your Stripe stablecoin balance. You need to first move them to a Stripe fiat balance, then convert them to stablecoin.

An external bank account or Stripe payments balance funds a fiat balance, which a user can convert into a USDC stablecoin balance. USDC or USDC.e from a crypto wallet funds the stablecoin balance. The user can send the balance as USDC or USDC.e to a crypto wallet, pay it out as fiat to a bank account, convert it to a supported fiat balance, or fund card spend. Support for specific stablecoin functionality varies by country, stablecoin type, and *blockchain network* (A network that moves cryptocurrency such as stablecoin. Stripe supports several networks, including Ethereum, Solana, and Tempo):
