Learn how to accept payments with Satispay, a digital wallet popular with Italian customers.
Satispay is a stored value wallet payment method available to businesses in Italy.
When customers select Satispay as their payment method, Stripe redirects them to Satispay’s website to finish the transaction. You’re paid immediately.

Get started
You don’t have to integrate Satispay and other payment methods individually. If you use our front-end products, Stripe automatically determines the most relevant payment methods to display. Go to the Stripe Dashboard and enable Satispay. To get started with one of our hosted UIs, follow a quickstart:

Prohibited and restricted business categories
In addition to the categories of goods or services sold and businesses restricted from using Stripe overall, the following categories are prohibited from using Satispay:
- Wire transfers and money orders
- Pawn shops
- Door-to-door sales
- Direct marketing
- Direct marketing – outbound telemarketing merchants
- Financial institutions – merchandise and services
- Non-Financial Institutions – Foreign Currency, Non-Fiat Currency Liquid and Cryptocurrency Assets, Money Orders (Not Money Transfer)
- Securities – brokers and dealers
- Counselling services – debt, marriage, and personal
- Consumer credit reporting agencies
- Employment agencies and temporary help services
- Detective agencies, protective agencies and security services, including armoured cars and guard dogs
- Betting, including lottery tickets, casino gaming chips, off-track betting and wagers at race tracks
- Charitable and social service organisations
- Civic, social, and fraternal associations
- Political organisations
- Religious organisations
- Automobile associations
- Membership organisation – not elsewhere classified
- Court costs, including alimony and child support
- Government services – not elsewhere classified
- Nightclubs and Discotheques
- Weapons and military equipment
- CBD – hemp shops
Refunds
Satispay supports full and partial refunds. The refund period is up to 180 days after the purchase. Refunds for Satispay payments are asynchronous and take up to 5 minutes to complete. We’ll notify you of the final refund status using the refund. or refund. webhook event. When a refund succeeds, the Refund object’s status transitions to succeeded. If a refund fails, the Refund object’s status transitions to failed and we return the amount to your Stripe balance. You then need to arrange an alternative way of providing your customer with a refund.
Supported currencies
You can create Satispay payments in the currencies that map to your country. The default local currency for Satispay is eur and customers also see their purchase amount in eur.
