Mastercard Installments
Allow issuers and lenders to provide buy now, pay later payments.
Mastercard Installments lets businesses use their existing Mastercard relationship to offer installment payment options to customers.
You’re automatically enrolled to accept Mastercard Installments when you start accepting Mastercard payments.
Customers who have a Mastercard Installments virtual card can pay in 4 interest-free installments during checkout, like a regular Mastercard transaction. The same fee structure applies to Mastercard Installments as regular Mastercard transactions. Surcharging for Mastercard Installments is prohibited.
Prohibited business categories
In addition to the categories of businesses restricted from using Stripe, the following categories are prohibited from accepting a Mastercard Installments virtual card.
- Money transfer
- Funding transactions
- Quasi cash
- Merchandise and services: Customer financial institution
- Payment transaction
- MoneySend
Recurring payments
Mastercard Installments doesn’t support recurring payments such as subscriptions. If a buyer attempts to purchase a recurring product or service with this card, it will be declined.
