The Order Intents API supports agentic workflows for purchasing items on behalf of customers. It combines many purchasing routes into a single API, and provides a mechanism to complete a purchase from any retailer.

How it works
The order intents API allows agents to help customers find items to purchase by providing an API to use with any retailer. Order intents support many purchasing methods, including:
- Agent driven computer use
- Headless browser scripts
- Direct integrations
- (Optional) Human purchase support
An order intent picks the fastest, cheapest, and most reliable method to complete a purchase based on the purchase item and retailer. As new methods of purchase become available, the Order Intents API adds them, which increases the speed and reliability of purchases.
Additionally, the Order Intents API can fall back to a human to complete the purchase, and allow agents to focus on helping customers find items. This happens when the agent can’t complete the purchase on their own, such as when the customer isn’t available.
