# Onboard and launch a stablecoin-backed card program

Learn the onboarding steps, timeline, and launch requirements for a stablecoin-backed card program.

Launching a stablecoin-backed card program requires approval from Stripe, the sponsor bank, and the card network. A dedicated Stripe implementation expert guides you through these requirements and helps you launch. You can build your integration while completing onboarding.

## Get access

To start onboarding, [contact Stripe sales](https://stripe.com/contact/embedded-finance). After you sign the program addendum, Stripe schedules a kickoff meeting and sets up your sandbox and Bridge developer account.

## Onboarding timeline

Onboarding typically takes 6–8 weeks from kickoff to launching with external customers.

| Stage | Cardholders | Typical timing |
| --- | --- | --- |
| Kickoff | None. You build and test in a sandbox. | After you sign the program addendum |
| Production testing | Up to 10 internal employees | About 2 weeks after kickoff |
| Launch | External customers, with no limit | 6–8 weeks after kickoff |

After kickoff, you receive a project board that lists the documents your program requires and their deadlines for your launch date. Upload each document to the board so that Stripe and its partners can review it and approve your launch.

## Launch requirements

Before you launch to external customers, make sure your program meets these requirements:

- **Integration**: Your integration creates customers, cardholders, and cards, and handles [authorization and webhook events](https://docs.stripe.com/issuing/stablecoin-cards/authorizations.md). You’ve tested it in a [sandbox](https://docs.stripe.com/issuing/stablecoin-cards/testing.md) and with internal employees in production.
- **Cardholder terms**: You present the issuing bank’s cardholder terms to each cardholder and record their acceptance.
- **Statements**: You provide cardholders with [statements](https://docs.stripe.com/issuing/stablecoin-cards/manage.md#statements) at least monthly.
- **Support**: You provide [cardholder support](https://docs.stripe.com/issuing/stablecoin-cards/manage.md#support) as card network rules require, or you use [Managed Support](https://docs.stripe.com/managed-support.md).
- **Complaints**: You have a process to receive, resolve, and report [complaints](https://docs.stripe.com/issuing/stablecoin-cards/manage.md#complaints) each month.
- **Marketing**: Stripe and its bank partners approve your marketing materials before you publish them. Your materials follow the Issuing [marketing guidelines](https://docs.stripe.com/issuing/commercial-compliance.md) and the additional guidelines for stablecoin-backed cards that Stripe shares during onboarding.
