# Remediate missing tax information (non-US)

Learn how to identify and correct tax forms with missing information.

Platforms must report tax information regarding sellers that meet a certain volume threshold. If a seller meets the threshold but is missing required information, Stripe labels them in the Dashboard as `Needs attention`.

To avoid submission failures, Stripe excludes these sellers from the generated tax report. To include them, you must provide the missing information. After you provide it, Stripe labels the seller as `Ready` and includes them in subsequent reports.

## Identify and address forms that need attention

The **Needs attention** tab in the platform tax reporting dashboard lists all forms that have the status `Needs attention`. The **Payee details** section shows the data that might be causing the `Needs attention` status. However, for detailed reasons why a form is in `Needs attention`, refer to the `needs_attention_reasons` row in the CSV export.

The following table lists the possible reasons for a `Needs attention` status and how to address them.

### Canada, Netherlands, and UK

| Field | Reason | Explanation |
| --- | --- | --- |
| `resident_country_code` | Missing resident country code | The seller must have a resident country provided. |
| Invalid country code | A resident country code must be a valid ISO3166 2-digit country code. |
| `tin` | Missing TIN | At least one TIN must be provided. The provided TIN can be `NOTIN` only if `tin_unknown` is set to true. |
| Field length exceeds 200 | A TIN can’t be more than 200 characters. |
| `tin_issued_by_country_code` | Invalid TIN issued by country | The country code must be provided for each provided TIN, and must be a valid 2-digit ISO country code. |
| Missing TIN issued by resident country code | **NL and CA only.** The resident country must have a TIN, unless `tin_unknown` is set to true. |
| `tin_unknown` | TIN unknown can’t be true when multiple TINs are provided | If more than one TIN is provided, `tin_unknown` can’t be set to true. |
| `entity_in` | Missing EIN | Each provided EIN must not be null. This error is surfaced if you’ve provided an EIN country or type but left the EIN empty. An EIN can be null if all associated fields are also null. |
| Field length exceeds 200 | An EIN can’t be more than 200 characters. |
| `entity_in_issued_by_country_code` | Invalid EIN issued by country | The country code must be provided for each provided EIN, and must be a valid 2-digit ISO country code. |
| `entity_in_type` | Missing EIN type | Each provided EIN must be one of the specified EIN types. |
| Missing BRN | **EU, including NL, only.** The business registration number (BRN) must be provided by entity sellers. |
| Invalid EIN Type outside the EU | The type `IIN` is EU specific. |
| `vat` | Field length exceeds 200 | A VAT can’t be more than 200 characters. |
| `registered_business_name` | Missing seller name | Entity sellers must provide a registered business name. |
| `address_line_1` | Field length exceeds 200 | The address line 1 can’t be more than 200 characters. |
| `address_line_2` | Field length exceeds 200 | The address line 2 can’t be more than 200 characters. |
| `address_city` | Missing city in address | Address city must be provided. |
| Field length exceeds 200 | The city can’t be more than 200 characters. |
| `address_region` | Field length exceeds 200 | The region can’t be more than 200 characters. |

| `permanent_establishments` | Invalid country code | EU-only field. Each provided country code must be a valid 2-digit country code representing an EU member state. |
| `seller_first_name` | Missing seller name | Seller first name must be provided by individual sellers. |

| `seller_middle_name` | Field length exceeds 200 | The seller middle name can’t be more than 200 characters. |

| `financial_accounts.account_identifier` | Missing financial account identifier | For each provided financial account, an account identifier must be provided. |

| Invalid birth date | The seller birth date must be in the format YYYY-MM-DD. For example, 2020-10-18. |
| `seller_birth_place_city` | Missing seller birthplace city | If the seller birthplace is provided, the seller birthplace city must be provided. |
| Field length exceeds 200 | The seller birthplace city can’t be more than 200 characters. |
| Missing birthplace when the TIN is unknown | **EU, including NL, only.** If the TIN of the individual seller is unknown, information on the birthplace must be provided. |
| `seller_birth_place_country` | Invalid country code | The seller’s birthplace country must be a valid ISO3166 2-digit country code. |
| Missing country code or country name | If the seller birthplace is provided, either the seller birthplace country or the seller birth country former name must be provided. |
