# Removes deposit insurance eligibility from the create parameters for Financial Accounts

## What’s new

Removes the [deposit_insurance_eligibility](https://docs.stripe.com/api/v2/money-management/financial-accounts/create.md?api-version=2026-09-30.preview#v2_create_financial_accounts-storage-deposit_insurance_eligibility) parameter from the [create](https://docs.stripe.com/api/v2/money-management/financial-accounts/create.md?api-version=2026-10-28.preview) method for v2 Financial Accounts. Deposit insurance eligibility is a read-only property on the Financial Account response object. You can still include the property when you [retrieve a Financial Account](https://docs.stripe.com/api/v2/money-management/financial-accounts/object.md?api-version=2026-10-28.preview#v2_financial_account_object-storage-deposit_insurance_eligibility).

## Why is this a breaking change?

When creating a v2 Financial Account, you can no longer include the `deposit_insurance_eligibility` parameter in the request body. To avoid returning errors, update your integration to remove `deposit_insurance_eligibility` from your create request parameters.

## Impact

If your integration includes `deposit_insurance_eligibility` in requests to create a v2 Financial Account, remove it from the request body. Previously, this parameter was accepted but had no effect because the property is read-only.
