# Adds the ability to report canceled payments ## What’s new Adds `canceled` as a value for the [outcome](https://docs.stripe.com/api/payment-record/report.md?api-version=2026-09-30.endive#report_payment_records_report_payment-outcome) field when [reporting a payment](https://docs.stripe.com/api/payment-record/report.md?api-version=2026-09-30.endive) or [reporting a payment attempt](https://docs.stripe.com/api/payment-record/report-payment-attempt/report.md?api-version=2026-09-30.endive). The `outcome` field previously accepted only `guaranteed` or `failed`. When you set `outcome` to `canceled`, include the [canceled](https://docs.stripe.com/api/payment-record/report.md?api-version=2026-09-30.endive#report_payment_records_report_payment-canceled) parameter with a [canceled_at](https://docs.stripe.com/api/payment-record/report.md?api-version=2026-09-30.endive#report_payment_records_report_payment-canceled-canceled_at) timestamp indicating when the payment was canceled. ## Impact You can now create a [Payment Record](https://docs.stripe.com/api/payment-record.md?api-version=2026-09-30.endive) for a canceled payment in one API call by [reporting a payment](https://docs.stripe.com/api/payment-record/report.md?api-version=2026-09-30.endive) with `outcome` set to `canceled`. For existing Payment Records, [report a payment attempt](https://docs.stripe.com/api/payment-record/report-payment-attempt/report.md?api-version=2026-09-30.endive) with `outcome` set to `canceled` instead of reporting the attempt and then [reporting the cancelation](https://docs.stripe.com/api/payment-record/report-payment-attempt-canceled/report.md?api-version=2026-09-30.endive) separately. ##
