# Distinguishes platform-initiated account rejections from Stripe rejections

## What’s new

Updates the [requirements.disabled_reason](https://docs.stripe.com/api/accounts/object.md?api-version=2026-09-30.endive#account_object-requirements-disabled_reason) and [future_requirements.disabled_reason](https://docs.stripe.com/api/accounts/object.md?api-version=2026-09-30.endive#account_object-future_requirements-disabled_reason) properties on the [v1 Account](https://docs.stripe.com/api/accounts/object.md?api-version=2026-09-30.endive) object to distinguish between platform-initiated rejections and Stripe rejections. Previously, platform-rejected accounts returned `rejected.fraud`, `rejected.terms_of_service`, or `rejected.other` for these properties. They now return:

- `rejected.platform_fraud` instead of `rejected.fraud`
- `rejected.platform_terms_of_service` instead of `rejected.terms_of_service`
- `rejected.platform_other` instead of `rejected.other`

## Why is this a breaking change?

The values returned in `requirements.disabled_reason` and `future_requirements.disabled_reason` for your platform-rejected accounts change when you upgrade to this API version. If your integration checks the previous values to identify platform rejections, you need to update this logic to handle the new values. You can now use these properties to determine whether the platform or Stripe rejected the account.

## Impact

Update any rejection-handling logic that checks `requirements.disabled_reason` or `future_requirements.disabled_reason` to handle the new `rejected.platform_*` values. See the versioned [Account API reference](https://docs.stripe.com/api/accounts/object.md?api-version=2026-09-30.endive#account_object-requirements-disabled_reason) for all supported rejection reasons.
