# Adds pending and expired statuses to Financial Connections account numbers

## What’s new

The [account_numbers.status](https://docs.stripe.com/api/financial_connections/accounts/object.md?api-version=2026-09-30.endive#financial_connections_account_object-account_numbers-status) property on [Financial Connections Accounts](https://docs.stripe.com/api/financial_connections/accounts/object.md?api-version=2026-09-30.endive) now supports two new values: `pending` and `expired`.

The `pending` status indicates that a [tokenized account number](https://docs.stripe.com/financial-connections/tokenized-account-numbers.md) has been created but isn’t available yet for transfers. The `expired` status indicates that a tokenized account number has expired and can’t be used for transfers.

## Impact

You can now distinguish account numbers that are still being created (`pending`) from those that are no longer usable (`expired`). This helps you show users accurate account status and prevent transfers with unavailable account numbers.

If your integration uses `account_numbers.status`, update it to handle these new values in addition to `transactable` and `deactivated`. Only account numbers with a `transactable` status can be used for transfers.

To learn more, see [Manage bank accounts with Tokenized Account Numbers](https://docs.stripe.com/financial-connections/tokenized-account-numbers.md).
