# Adds PayPay support for one-time online payments in Japan

## What’s new

Adds support for [PayPay](https://docs.stripe.com/payments/paypay.md), a digital wallet payment method, for one-time online payments for eligible accounts based in Japan. Customers authorize payments by redirecting to PayPay.

You can accept PayPay using [Payment Intents](https://docs.stripe.com/api/payment_intents.md?api-version=2026-09-30.endive), [Checkout](https://docs.stripe.com/payments/checkout.md), [Payment Element](https://docs.stripe.com/payments/payment-element.md), [Payment Links](https://docs.stripe.com/payment-links.md), and the iOS and Android [Payment Sheets](https://docs.stripe.com/payments/mobile/payment-sheet.md). PayPay supports full and partial [refunds](https://docs.stripe.com/refunds.md).

PayPay is available for one-time payments only. Recurring payments, subscriptions, and Terminal payments aren’t supported in this release. PayPay onboarding for platform-controlled connected accounts is available only to eligible Connect platforms.

## Impact

If your business is based in Japan, you can now offer PayPay as a one-time payment option. Customers authorize each transaction using their PayPay digital wallet.

You can enable PayPay in your [payment method settings](https://dashboard.stripe.com/settings/payment_methods) in the Dashboard. To enable PayPay for platform-controlled connected accounts, your Connect platform must be approved for PayPay Connect access.
