# Deprecates the payment request button

## What’s new

Deprecates the payment request button element and removes support for it in Endive. Use the [Express Checkout Element](https://docs.stripe.com/elements/express-checkout-element.md) instead.

## Why is this a breaking change?

Starting with Endive, `elements.create('paymentRequestButton')` throws an error. This also affects integrations that render the React `PaymentRequestButtonElement` component.

## Impact

Follow the [migration guide](https://docs.stripe.com/elements/express-checkout-element/migration.md) to replace your payment request button integration with the Express Checkout Element before upgrading to Endive. Stripe.js versions through Dahlia continue to support the payment request button element.
