# Updates Received Debits to enable bank transfer types other than US bank accounts

## What’s new

Updates [bank_transfer.us_bank_account](https://docs.stripe.com/api/v2/money-management/received-debits/object.md?api-version=2026-07-29.preview#v2_received_debit_object-bank_transfer-us_bank_account) on ReceivedDebit objects to be optional instead of required to enable additional bank transfer types beyond US bank accounts.

## Why is this a breaking change?

Previously, `us_bank_account` on the ReceivedDebit `bank_transfer` hash was required. It’s now optional. If your integration reads this property without checking for its presence, it could encounter null values for debits that use a different payment method type.

## Impact

If your integration processes ReceivedDebits on Financial Accounts, update any code that assumes `us_bank_account` on the `bank_transfer` hash is always present. Check for the property before accessing it.
