# Adds redaction details to the Customer object ## What’s new Adds the [redaction](https://docs.stripe.com/api/customers/object.md?api-version=2026-06-24.preview#customer_object-redaction) hash to the [Customer](https://docs.stripe.com/api/customers/object.md?api-version=2026-06-24.preview) object. The redaction hash contains information about data that Stripe removes or hides from the customer record to comply with privacy regulations or customer requests. This hash includes properties that show what type of data Stripe redacted and when the redaction occurred. ## Impact You can now programmatically identify when Stripe redacts customer data and understand the scope of the redaction. This helps with compliance reporting and ensures your integration handles cases where customer information becomes incomplete due to privacy-related data removal. If your integration relies on specific customer data fields, check the redaction hash to verify data availability before processing customer information. ## Changes #### REST API | Parameter | Change | Resources or endpoints | | --- | --- | --- | | `redaction` | Added | [Customer](/api/customers/object?api-version=2026-06-24.preview#customer_object) | #### Ruby | Parameter | Change | Resources or methods | | --- | --- | --- | | `redaction` | Added | [Customer](/api/customers/object?api-version=2026-06-24.preview#customer_object) | #### Python | Parameter | Change | Resources or methods | | --- | --- | --- | | `redaction` | Added | [Customer](/api/customers/object?api-version=2026-06-24.preview#customer_object) | #### PHP | Parameter | Change | Resources or methods | | --- | --- | --- | | `redaction` | Added | [Customer](/api/customers/object?api-version=2026-06-24.preview#customer_object) | #### Java | Parameter | Change | Resources or methods | | --- | --- | --- | | `redaction` | Added | [Customer](/api/customers/object?api-version=2026-06-24.preview#customer_object) | #### Node.js | Parameter | Change | Resources or methods | | --- | --- | --- | | `redaction` | Added | [Customer](/api/customers/object?api-version=2026-06-24.preview#customer_object) | #### Go | Parameter | Change | Resources or methods | | --- | --- | --- | | `Redaction` | Added | [Customer](/api/customers/object?api-version=2026-06-24.preview#customer_object) | #### .NET | Parameter | Change | Resources or methods | | --- | --- | --- | | `Redaction` | Added | [Customer](/api/customers/object?api-version=2026-06-24.preview#customer_object) | ## Upgrade #### REST API 1.
