Pricing and cancellation terms for Stripe Foundations, Expansion, and Scale plansPrivate preview
You can sign up for a subscription-based plan from the Your plans page in the Stripe Dashboard.
Minimum contractual commitment
Bundled plans require a monthly commitment. Your subscription begins at 00:00 UTC on the day after you sign up, and runs for one month. After your plan starts, it can take up to 24 hours for all features to be available in your account. After you enroll, you’re responsible for subscription fees and any applicable additional fees incurred for the full term, even if you schedule a cancellation before your contract ends.
For more flexibility, we have pay-as-you-go pricing plans, if applicable.
Automatic subscription renewals
Subscription plans automatically renew for another one-month term unless you schedule a cancellation before the renewal date. If you don’t want to automatically renew, you need to schedule a cancellation of your subscription before the auto-renew date.
Cancel a subscription
To prevent automatic renewal, you must:
- Email support@stripepricing.com at least 2 business days in advance of your renewal date
- Have administrator access
After your current contract period ends, your account automatically transitions to pay-as-you-go pricing for continued use of any products or features, and you can no longer access any unused entitlements or features that are only available through a subscription.
Subscription fees
Stripe subscription plans require a monthly commitment. When you subscribe, you agree to pay for the full monthly term, including any incurred additional fees. Payments are non-refundable, and we don’t offer prorated refunds if you cancel before the end of your term.
A subscription fee covers product usage up to the entitlement limit for your selected plan during your current term. If usage exceeds your entitlement, overage fees will apply. We might, at any time, waive any overages or additional fees at our discretion.
To learn more about these fees, see Stripe Pricing.
Product usage entitlements
Product usage entitlement is the amount of usage included in your subscription plan. This is the limit you selected when signing up, and it determines how much of each product you can use before incurring overage fees.
Overage fees
Overage fees are additional fees incurred when product usage entitlement is exceeded. These fees only apply to usage beyond your selected product entitlement and are billed monthly at the end of your billing period. We might, at any time, waive any overages or additional fees at our discretion.
Overage fees are charged at standard pricing, except for Stripe Tax, which is charged in line with the overage fees for the lowest tier of Tax Complete.
The following examples illustrate typical overage fees:
Service | Plan limit | Overage example | Overage charge |
---|---|---|---|
Stripe Billing | 10,000 USD in monthly processing | Process 15,000 USD | 0.7% on extra 5,000 USD |
Stripe Tax | 100 transactions per month | Process 120 transactions | 0.50 USD per transaction on extra 20 transactions1 |
Card disputes | 10 card disputes waived per month | Process 15 card disputes | 15 USD per additional dispute on extra 5 disputes |
Stripe Invoicing | 10 one-time invoices per month | Process 14 invoices | 0.4% per paid invoice for extra 4 invoices |
Instant Payouts | 2,000 USD in payout volume per month | Process 2,700 USD in payout volume | 1.5% of payment volume for each instant payout (or minimum 0.50 USD) on the extra 700 USD payouts |
1Stripe Tax overage fees are charged in line with the overage fees for the lowest tier of Tax Complete.
Charge schedule
You’ll be charged your recurring subscription fee when you subscribe and again at the start of every subsequent billing period thereafter (this aligns with whichever plan you selected). You’ll be charged for any additional fees, including overage fees, at the end of the billing period that they were incurred.
For more details on your subscription pricing, click your plans in your Dashboard settings.
How Stripe charges you
Your recurring subscription fees and any additional fees, such as overage fees, are deducted from your Stripe account balance or charged to the payment method you used to pay for your initial subscription fee, such as a credit card or ACH. Standard terms and conditions apply for payments made using your Stripe account balance.
Change your plan
You can upgrade or downgrade your plan at any time, and the upgrade or downgrade is effective at the start of your next billing period. For example, if you’re charged on the 15th of every month, and you upgrade or downgrade your plan on October 20, the new price and usage entitlement is effective November 15.
To change your plan, you must:
- Email support@stripepricing.com at least 2 business days in advance of your renewal date
- Have administrator access
Failed or missed payments
Stripe reserves the right to temporarily suspend your access to the Services if you fail to pay or are in violation of our standard terms.
Refund policy for cancellation of pre-paid subscriptions
We don’t offer prorated refunds on pre-paid subscriptions. All Stripe subscription plans require a monthly commitment. You’re responsible for the full subscription fee, including applicable overage fees for the entire term. We don’t offer refunds (prorated or otherwise) if you cancel your subscription before the end of your current term.
Taxes on subscription purchases
Taxes are estimated at the time you’re charged based on current tax rates. You can see the final amount in your email receipt or invoice. These rates might change, and some jurisdictions might require self-assessment for tax compliance reporting.
Preview Services
Your access to the Stripe Services according to this subscription plan constitutes a ‘Preview Service’. This Preview Service is governed by the terms of the Stripe Agreement, Documentation (as defined in the Stripe Agreement), and these terms. Stripe might terminate your access to, or modify, the subscriptions at any time. Before using any Preview Services, you’re responsible for making any necessary amendments to your own customer agreements to ensure they’re consistent with your use of these services. Preview Services are, by their nature, incomplete and might contain bugs or errors.
Terms
These terms apply until the first to occur of: (i) we make these subscriptions publicly and generally available, (ii) we decide to stop offering these subscriptions to you or in your region, which we might do at our sole discretion at any time, (iii) you cancel your subscription, (iv) your overall Stripe agreement terminates, or (v) we enter into a new agreement that expressly supersedes these terms.
