Billing CadencesPublic preview
Control subscription billing cycles and invoice generation using billing cadences.
Billing cadences define when to bill customers for subscriptions. They provide control over when to collect for invoice items generated from subscriptions and enable features such as invoice consolidation. This allows for separation between subscriptions servicing and when you invoice customers.
A billing cadence determines:
- When to generate invoices
- Which subscriptions to bill
Billing Cadences is in public preview.
Overview
Billing cycle
A billing cycle defines when you generate invoices. For example, you might want to generate invoices:
- On the 1st of every month
- Every quarter on the 15th
- Weekly on Mondays
Payer
A payer defines who is financially responsible for a bill. They’re linked to a customer through the Billing Profile object.
Billing settings
Billing settings control how you generate invoices and how you collect payments. You can associate billing cadences with a bill setting and a collection setting.
Limitations
- You can’t create multiple subscriptions at the same time as a billing cadence.
- Billing cadences are created and finalized immediately with no invoice grace period.
